Austrian Cold-Painted Art Deco Bronze Entitled "Shy Maiden" by Josef Adolph
By Joseph Adolph
Located in London, GB
A fabulous cold painted Art Deco bronze figure of a naked beauty in a revealing pose with very fine colour and excellent detail, raised on an onyx base and signed Adolph Additional information Height: 27 cm Condition: Excellent Original Condition Circa: 1930 Materials: cold painted bronze & onyx SKU: 7692 ABOUT Josef Adolph Josef Adolph ~ Austrian, created many small figural models in the Art Deco period around 1910-1939. It might best be characterised as an attempt to unite arts with industry, embracing the machine age and repudiating the old antithesis of ‘Fine’ and ‘Industrial’ art. The sources of the Art Deco movement include Egyptian and Mayan Art, Cubisim, Fauvism and Expressionism, heavily influencing the chief force underlying all Art Deco...
