About the Item
A renowned tradition in Puerto Rico is the making of Santos de Palos by Masters Carvers since the 19th century. They hand carved and painted the saints inspired in their personal religious devotion. This is an early 20th century Puerto Rican Wood Carved Sculptures of the Three Wise Men Afoot by the Puerto Rican craftsman, Domingo Rojas. The robes are hand painted with bright blue, green, red and yellow colors. Their crowns are painted bronzed tone. They are standing in a rectangular green painted wooden base adorned with gold color dots supported by another grey color painted rectangular wood base. All of them are missing their hands. Sometimes that happens because they were made individually and then attached to the wood sculpture.
