Royal Doulton Art Deco The Parsons Daughter Pottery Figure HN564

About the Item

A fine and stylish Art Deco early figurine by Royal Doulton titled The Parsons Daughter and designed by Harry Tittensor and dating between 1929 and 1938. The lightly potted hollow figurine wears a short cape fastened at the front over a full length dress, the top with draped sleeves and with a matching bonnet. The young lady figurine holds up the front of her dress to prevent it dragging on the ground and looks towards the ground. The dress is hand painted in patch work design in tones of blue, red and green on a yellow ground, with yellow sleeves and mauve red cape. The bonnet is similary painted and is tied under her chin with a black ribbon. The figure has natural painted features and has printed Royal Doulton marks to the base and is hand inscribed The Parsons Daughter and numbered HN564. Provenance: from the private collection of a Belgian Gentleman. In good condition with a very thin hairline across the base and only visible under magnification.
