Please see photos, zoom in for details, and see long description as they are part of the condition report. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1980’s. I think there’s something FISHY going on here at the shop!! And by Fishy I mean… a Fantastic Fishy Fantasy Figural Fabulous… Sculpture. HA… Say THAT 3 times fast! All tongue twisting and jokes aside, we got this guy JUST in time! Poor guy had been in an unfortunate accident and was in need of some serious attention. He suffered a few broken ligaments and was in desperate turmoil. Thank GOODNESS for our incredibly talented, caring staff!! Not only did he get the FINEST cosmetic “surgery.” Our experienced artisans gave him the Royal Treatment and we think he looks INCREDIBLE!!! At 30H x 22D x 28W this guy is life sized (like an actual toddler!) He is an absolutely marvelous spectacle that could only be created by the hands of renowned artist Sergio Bustamante! Infamous for his productions of unique “humanoid” like creatures and subjects, this sculpture is part of Bustamante’s “Fish Boy” series collection depicting a child with fish-like features including his green flowing hair styled as a mohawk of fish scales and his skin bearing a slight green tint with scales all over his body, and swirls at his wrists and ankles. Is he part boy, part merman? We think so… and he is ALL AWESOME!! He will be an incredible addition to your Bustamante collection if you are fortunate to have one… or a perfect “first” piece to start one! He will be quite the conversation piece on a pedestal anywhere you display your fabulous art or make a bold statement in an entry way or dining room if you have a table suited to host his size. He is a MUST have if you enjoy mesmerizing mythical objects of fantasy and imagination. Sergio Bustamante was born in 1949 in Sinaloa, Mexico. He is a painter, sculptor, and designer known best for his depictions of animals, mythic characters, and unique humanoid like subjects. His work has stood out worldwide for originality and imagination. He works with ceramic, wood, plastic, bronze, paper mâché, etc., and typically paints and glazes for added features and details of realism to bring his creatures to life. He studied architecture at the University of Guadalajara, but he left before his degree in order to focus on crafting and art. Bustamante and fellow artist Melquiades Preciado founded the SerMel Workshop in 1963 in Tonala, Jalisco, Mexico. The workshop’s name was created from the combination of the first three letters of each of their names, Ser-Mel. Their original artwork was immediately recognized in Mexico and around the world and garnered awards. In 1966 he showcased his first exhibition at the Galeria Misracha in Mexico City. By the end of the 1970s Bustamante went out on his own and established the “Family Workshop Studio” in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco. The workshop was left in the hands of Melquiades and his brothers Luis and Fausto. Today, Bustamante continues to exhibit his work all over the world. This magnificent Sergio Bustamante “Fish Boy” series hand painted ceramic sculpture is just too incredible to let go! Even and especially with his tender loving repair care!!! We know he won’t last long, so if you love him half as much as we do… you better not let him get away… get your hooks in him… and make him YOURS!!!! Organic Modern Cast Bronze Bowl Sculpture with Fish Design by John Forsythe
Located in Topeka, KS
Fabulous organic modern bronze fishbowl sculpture by John Forsythe comprised of cast bronze with golden bronze and green patination. Gorgeous vintage condition with no outstanding flaws that we have found. Please see photos. Circa 1993. No human being, however great, or powerful, was ever so free as a fish – John Ruskin, Picture Quotes. Just look at this magnificent cast bronze bowl sculpture with fish design created by John Forsythe. A decorative bowl comprised of a cast bronze water whirlpool with swimming fish caught in the spinning currents, their half bodies and patinated green tails distending from the swirling water and a fish tail protruding from the exterior base of the bowl. You feel the struggle of trying to stay above water and complete your journey. Surrounded by a cast bronze rim trimmed with shiny green bubbles or fish eggs as to represent salmon and their spawning. Salmon lay an enormous number of eggs because they face a lot of adversity on their journey to becoming an adult, and while we aren’t sure these fish are in fact salmon, it certainly speaks to the realities of the course of life. Overcoming hardships and struggles and new beginnings. This sculpture is unique and one of only fifty created by John Forsythe, so it is sure to be a sought-after piece for collectors. In the style of organic modern or fantasy, this piece would be gorgeous displayed on your dining table, display cabinet or buffet in the family room, or on the coffee table in the living room. John Forsythe knew at an early age that he wanted to be an artist. He graduated from Emporia State University in 1976 with his BFA and started working with metals. He was employed as manager of Oxbow Foundry and befriended Eldon Tefft, Founder of the International Sculptor Guild and Chair of the University of Kansas Art...

SHE is complicated… SHE is strong… when she isn’t feeling weak. SHE is happy… when she isn’t feeling sad. SHE can do anything placed in front of her… if she can get out of bed. SHE is bold and daring… but sometimes she feels simple. SHE is independent… but sometimes she needs you. She doesn’t want to “blend in” … but she’s judged if she “stands out.” SHE is too old to wear this and too young to wear that. She is too fat; she is too thin… She is your best friend… but SHE is her own worst enemy. She is aged longing for her youth… she is young longing for adulthood. SHE has been labeled as mother, grandmother, wife, girlfriend, partner, daughter, sister… but WHO is SHE to herself?? If SHE is strong willed… she is a b**ch. If SHE is sexy or seductive… she is a tramp. If SHE is reserved… she is a prude. She doesn’t care… but she really cares TOO much! If she could see herself as others do, she would see that SHE is a creation of perfection. Exactly who she is supposed to be. Unique. Individual. Irreplaceable. Definition of a woman? SHE is a masterpiece… but SHE is complicated. We have an incredible life-sized art assemblage created by renowned designer Susan Tibbles for your viewing pleasure! This piece is titled “Master Lock,” and was custom made and hand crafted by Susan Tibbles in 1989. It is composed of a masterfully sculpted and crafted 3-diminsional woman’s silver negligee, thigh high fish net stockings with lock details on the thigh straps, black spiked stiletto heels, and a silver beaded & spiked neck collar with a ring attached to a full-length chain draping from the collar to a hook at the top of the case. The chain hangs down to the base of the case where it gathers between the spiked heels. SASSY!! The sculpture stands in front of a black leather-like back drop inside a monumental black and white display case...
