Pair of 18th century Italian gold leaf candlestick tops with polished fossil agate coral and a natural forming baroque pearl. The 18th century fragments come from Tuscany and have the original candlestick wax drip-trays attached.
Fossil agate coral is also Florida's state stone and is known for its unique formation that can take place over 20 million years. It's a natural gemstone that is created when prehistoric coral is gradually replaced with agate.
The Italian church candlestick top artifacts, fossil agate coral, and baroque pearl are put together in a sculptural form - creating a pair that appears to have evolved together over time. Interpreting the past to create pieces entirely original, evolving in their own right.
