A rare and unusually large nut shell, skillfully etched with elephant figures and objects.
Despite extensive research, we have limited information on the origin and age of this piece. The etched detail suggests African origin.
The Lodoicea is known to be the largest nut on the planet but is usually in a shape of a double nut, this may be a Lodoicea nut that formed unusually or fell before fully forming.
