This Handcrafted and hand-glazed ceramic jug/vase is made in Grottaglie (Puglia), one of the most acknowledged Italian hubs for ceramics, and it is entirely hand glazed and decorated by the artist Ilaria Bianchi, this makes each piece unique as it traces the hand of the artist.
Glazed with elegant and gestural traits this jar shows the image of the Temperance the XIV arcana of Tarot. This is a magical object, Temperanza is mixing the waters as a metaphor for mixing her inner feelings. She is connected to her body and her dance moves the oceans.

Temperanza by Ilaria Bianchi promotes emotional relationships with our objects and intimate spaces. A production limited to the essential, an ethical manufacturing cycle involving materials, ancient traditional techniques and new methodologies, such us the "applicator baby bottle” method, an innovative way to hand-glaze ceramics. Temperanza is hand-made in Grottaglie (Puglia) in the prestigious Franco Fasano’s workshop and hand-glazed by the designer Ilaria Bianchi. Each element is handmade and therefore unique, every difference is the trace of the artist who created it. Temperanza’s objects tell us stories, things were never just things, tools to solve functional activities. Most of the time they embody symbolic and metaphorical values. The first human beings lived immersed in an
"integrated" environment, devoid of a real separation between myth and nature. Temperanza offers small daily artworks created with a soul, which keep us company and reconnect us to the emotional power of objects, hoping to make our relationships with them more lasting and sustainable.
Temperanza bridges our collective and private rituals. The means used, ceramics, weaving and paintings are chosen as creative activities that have always been subordinated to the category of "arts & crafts" rather than
"fine arts", as they are associated with female work.

Ilaria Bianchi
Ilaria Bianchi is an Italian award-winning product and furniture designer, based in Milan, Italy. She works for design studios, galleries, companies and private clients. She started her practice in 2015, after receiving her degree in industrial design at the Polytechnic of Turin and an MA degree in ceramic, furniture and jewelry design at Central Saint Martins, in London, England. Bianchi's work, which uses a multi-disciplinary approach, ranges from industrial design to unique pieces to installations. Her works are shown in galleries, cultural centers and international fairs, such as the “Victoria & Albert Museum, Triennale di Milano, MiArt, Stockholm Design Fair, London Design Fair, Salone del Mobile” and many others. Her Duo Shelf project is one of the WallPaper* 2018 Design Award winners. In 2017, Bianchi was selected as one of the 100 ambassadors of Italian design, for the Italian Design Day event, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She's also included in the "Under 35 Italian Design" exhibition, at Triennale di Milano. In 2016, she founded The Ladies' Room collective with Agustina Bottoni, Astrid Luglio, and Sara Ricciardi. Their work began as a co-operation for observing contemporary design, by creating artifacts and experiences that are the engine of discussion on the renewed need for sensory involvement.
