Antique Thai 19th Century Brown Glazed Water Jar with Petite Loop Handles

About the Item

An antique Thai water jar from the 19th century, with monochrome glazed finish and petite loop handles. Created in Thailand during the 19th century, this water jar features a circular mouth with large lip, showcasing a 5.5 inches diameter opening. The body presents tapering lines and a series of petite loop handles at the base of the neck, through which a rope would have been passed to secure a top. The ensemble is covered with a brown glaze with yellow / green undertones at the top. The lower section is unglazed. Boasting a nice patina with expected chips to be found, this antique Thai water jar from the 19th century will make for a lovely decorative addition to any home, used to display flowers or branches, in a living room, foyer or kitchen!
