About the Item

The robust & heavily cast bronze mortar with a flattened circular base, rising to a cylindrical body with ovolo & cavetto turned moldings and a broad flaring rim. Exhibiting a very old weathered surface and a superb old patina overall. Complete with what appears to be its original bronze pestle. The mortar measures 5.75” high x 7.25” diameter, with a weight of 14.4 lbs, and an overall weight including the pestle, of 16.1 lbs.
