The tall koro of tripod form, with three elegant legs with outward curved feet resting on an integral circular base. The compressed body cast with a delightful scene of a pair of birds roosting on branches of flowering plum. A pair of monster masks adorn the sides. Rising from the top of their heads are a dramatic pair of horns, joined at the top, in the form of a Buddhist mandorla. The monster mask theme continues below, with their tongues forming the legs.
The pierced cover of the koro features a fantastic kirin (qilin in Chinese), a mythical chimeric animal with the head of horned dragon, body of a deer, and legs and hooves of a horse.
