Stunning Hand Painted English Porcelain Coalport Twin Handle Lidded single Vase of Museum quality, hand decorated by the supremely talented Artist Frederick Chivers. Circa 1910-20. The central oval reserve depicts still life of fruits, apple, peach and black grapes resting on a mossy ground, signed lower left, within a very decorative raised gilt surround, all on a coblat blue ground. Highly ornate gilt handles with dog finials, raised on four claw supports. dark blue painted crown mark as shown on both vase and cover. Condition: Good allover condition, tiny loss at very tip of finial lid. Height: (entire as per image one) 10" (25.25cm). Width: (at lower widest) 6.25” (16cm). Depth: (lower area) 5.5” (14cm). Chivers (1881-1965) Fruit & Flower Painter: Worked for the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company, but by 1906 worked at Coalport Pottery specialising in Fruit Studies.
