There may be items on the 1stdibs site that look and feel the same, but the items selected by Brood are unique. Sue pottery is called "sueki" in Japanese. Earthenware that was baked at low temperatures is now being baked at high temperatures due to the development of kiln technology. Baking at high temperatures makes the pottery harder and harder to crack. The color is light gray or gray. This is a technology that came from the Korean Peninsula. Some of them have a design similar to the pottery of the Korean Peninsula, Some are made by imitating Chinese bronze ware. Born in Osaka, "sueki" is gradually being made in various parts of Japan. And this is the type of Sue pottery that was made in the Kanto area such as Tokyo. The bottom is rounded and the top is trumpet shaped. And there are two small projections on the shoulder, which were originally semi-circular projections. However, as time passed, it was gradually omitted and became such a simple decoration. A similar item was published in the art book, so I'm posting the picture. The place circled in red has a small chip and a crack of about 1 cm. It's pretty small so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
