About the Item

This important vase by Anzolo Fuga belongs to the celebrated Murrine Incatenate series, created in 1960 during his collaboration with the renowned Murano workshop A.Ve.M. (Arte Vetraria Muranese). Hand-blown in Murano glass, the piece is distinguished by its dynamic surface decoration of multicolored murrhines and canes, fused and “chained” together in a complex design that demonstrates both technical mastery and bold artistic vision. Fuga, one of the most inventive Venetian glass designers of the mid-20th century, challenged tradition by combining ancient techniques with modern aesthetics. This vase exemplifies his innovative approach, where vibrant color and rhythmic pattern create a striking sculptural presence. Documented in Rosa Barovier Mentasti’s monograph Anzolo Fuga (2005), p. 150. The piece measures 27.9 cm (11 in) in height and 19 cm (7.5 in) in diameter.
