Birgit Krogh (1936–2023) was a significant Danish ceramicist. After completing her education at the Copenhagen School of Arts and Crafts in 1957, she founded her own studio and produced a diverse body of work, including reliefs, sculptures, jars, plates, vases, and ceramic paintings. Her art conveyed stories through clay—often depicting human and animal figures inspired by mythology and the relationships in life.
She was a co-founder and long-time chair of HUSET i Asnæs, an artist-run exhibition venue founded in 1973 that played a pivotal role in the cultural life of Odsherred. She also contributed to the establishment of the international ceramic centre Guldagergaard in Skælskør and CLAY Museum of Ceramic Art Denmark in Middelfart through the artist group Clay Today, formed in 1990.
Birgit Krogh passed away on July 1, 2023. Her artistic legacy and institutional work have left a lasting imprint on both Danish and international ceramic art.
