About the Item

An unusual and striking mid-century Dutch Brutalist orange glazed art pottery vase possibly by Jaap Ravelli (1916-2011) and dating from around 1960. The vase is heavily made in terracotta clay and is made in three rounded cylindrical sections separated by narrower similar sections offset to opposite sides. The vase is decorated in orange glazes over a yellow ground with elements of the yellow showing through in places. The vase has printed marks HANDMADE HOLLAND to the base. In good condition with minor wear associated with age and use.
