German Neoclassical Amphora Jar in Pewter and Glass, 1900s

About the Item

An early 20th-century German amphora vase crafted in silver-plated pewter and clear glass, designed in the Neoclassical style. A sophisticated blend of form and symbolism, this vase evokes ancient Greco-Roman design traditions through refined details and balanced proportions. The body features ornamental reliefs with classical Greek figures, including two griffins (half-eagle, half-lion) — mythical creatures associated with Apollo, symbolizing divine protection and artistic inspiration. The handles and base display further intricate neoclassical motifs, reinforcing the object's sense of grandeur. Marked “11141” on the base, this piece is a fine example of early 1900s German decorative metalwork, where artistic influence and craftsmanship merged into collectible functional art. Perfect as a decorative accent in neoclassical or eclectic interiors, or for collectors of antique amphorae and mythological symbolism. Take into account that the colors on the items may vary depending on the type of lighting and the type of screen from which you see the images.
