About the Item

A contemporary iteration of the classic Chinese phoenix-tail vase form, this tall porcelain urn by interior design house Maitland-Smith features a square body with angular shoulders and a flared top. A mottled glaze coats the exterior in a palette of light green and brown, reminiscent of ancient sancai ware. With simple decoration and sculptural form, the large vase blends effortlessly into traditional and modern interiors alike. From the collection of Frances and Gary Comer.
