About the Item
Hand thrown and altered ceramic vase by Norwegian artist Johanne Birkeland.
Birkeland, who works under the artist name Jossolini, is known for her special techniques in altering her wheel thrown forms.
Once the form has been thrown and trimmed at the wheel, Jossolini uses her body to disfigure the pieces. This technique makes all of Jossolini’s wheel thrown pieces unique in a very personal way.
The vase is glazed on the inside, and hand decorated with black glaze on the outside.
The vase is foremost a decorative art piece, but it is also waterproof, and can thus be used for flowers.
All of Jossolini’s works are designed, crafted and fired at her studio in Oslo.
