A caltagirone pottery earthenware maiolica jar, 16th century. Boldly painted with flowers and scrolling foliage on a blue ground, blue borders to the rims, probably a pharmacy vessel. The maiolica color decoration of turquoise, ochre and blue are painted in a vibrant swirls with outstanding decorative atmospheric appeal.
