I would like to introduce an attractive pot that gives you a sense of wabi-sabi.
It is "Shigaraki ware".
Shigaraki is a historical kiln located in Shiga Prefecture, Japan.
It is said to have originated in the 8th century.
In Japan, there are 6 historical kilns that are still in operation.
One of them.
In addition, the feldspar (white mineral) contained in the soil is visible on the surface, which is a characteristic of Shigaraki ware.
These types of vases, which are not coated with natural glaze, have a dry, biscuit-like surface and are very attractive.
This vase was made between the 15th and early 16th centuries.
