Japanese antique pottery Wabisabi vase/15th century/Bizen ware/Muromachi period

About the Item

I would like to introduce an attractive pot that gives you a sense of wabi-sabi. It is "Shigaraki ware". Shigaraki is a historical kiln located in Shiga Prefecture, Japan. (Shigaraki Kiln is marked with a red circle on the map.) It is said to have originated in the 8th century. In Japan, there are 6 historical kilns that are still in operation. One of them. In addition, the feldspar (white mineral) contained in the soil is visible on the surface, which is a characteristic of Shigaraki ware. These types of vases, which are not coated with natural glaze, have a dry, biscuit-like surface and are very attractive. This vase was made between the 14th and early 16th centuries. Also, since a similar item was published in an art book, I have included a photo of it as a reference. The deep dark brown color goes well with a variety of flowers. However, it is a very old item. If you fill it with water, it will leak from the bottom, so if you want to display flowers, fill another container with water and put it inside the jar. Also, I want many people to know the goodness of antiques, so I set the price reasonably. How about showing off to your friends around you? Weight: 6.65kg
