Judith Via Wolff Blue and Green Bud Vase, New York Studio Art Glass

About the Item

Vintage art glass bud vase was hand blown with multi-layered abstract pattern of green and orange murine glass inclusions on the blue glass background. The colored glass core is encased in clear glass in sommerso technique, adding depth and complexity to the piece; bright, jewel-like colors of the glass add intensity and presence to a small, but visually intense vase. The vase is clearly signed and dated by the artist in etching on the bottom. Judith Via-Wolff is an established Western New York glass artist, who was working in VIA Glass Art studio in Rochester, NY, in 1980s-1990s.
