About the Item
Large Post-Modern one-of-a-kind white handmade vase with 2 pink flamingos with a pink Anthuriums bouquet by Kandice in Kona, Hawaii. The vase features a beautifully detailed pair of pink flamingos attached to a V-shaped vase. It comes in a gloss finish that highlights the rich pinks, greens, and white accents, making it a striking statement piece.
Kandice has lived on the Big Island of Hawaii since 1975. She lives in the south of the island with her husband, Rodney, and their many animals. Kandice started her career in ceramics in 1986, making decorated containers, dishes, and vases. She soon found herself creating fantasy figurines, and her direction quickly changed.
Each piece she makes is a one of a kind. Some of the parts are cast in molds separately, such as the arms, legs, heads, bodies, and wings. She has accumulated a large collection of molds to choose from; some are purchased, and some she made herself. They are all assembled differently each time one is created. The mermaid fins are sculpted separately each time by hand, which makes them truly unique.
