Large gilt bronze, ruby red and clear cut glass vase French, 20th century Height 80cm, diameter 36cm The brightly coloured ruby red glass fluted body of the vase, is adorned with delicate clear glass detailing. The vase terminates in a tulip neck mounted with an egg and dark ormolu (gilt bronze) border. A superbly faceted glass sphere rests atop a shining gold ormolu base. The base is adorned with various motifs such as egg and dart, beading and scrolls, some similar to ormolu detailing found on other parts of the vase. An eye-catching decorative piece, the vase can be displayed as a stand-alone piece or among other decorative objects of choice.

A highly decorative and unusual large ruby red vase with a gilt and silvered bronze stand. The gilt and silvered bronze base with three sturgeons. Possibly of Russian origin and made in the late 19th century. The cut glass vase lifts off the bronze base. It holds water and is in perfect condition. Sturgeon is one of the oldest bone fishes still in existence and the oldest fossils found date back the Early Jurassic period, some 174 to 201 million years ago.
