About the Item

This fabulous pair of rare large yew wood treen vases are in the form of large stemmed goblets following a design similar to glassware of the period. They have been beautifully turned on a country woodman’s pole lathe in native well figured yew wood. They have been made in two sections joined just above the foot and they are both in untouched original condition with fabulous rich colour and lustrous patination having been built up from being regularly wax polished over the centuries. English circa 1760. Rare and in lovely condition. Height 31cm x width 11.5cm x depth 11.5cm
