Mid-Century Modernist Sculptural Amethyst & Acqua Murano Glass Vase

About the Item

This elegant and graphic Mid-Century Modern vase was realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. It features an idiosyncratic, amorphic form that flares dramatically near its center before tapering into an cut out mouth with asymmetrical sides. The base has been blown in a beautiful acqua glass, while the upper section (that appears to float in light blue glass below) is executed in a deep smoked amethyst hue. With its unusual (and delightful form) and sophisticated color palate, this piece is sure to delight discerning collectors of Murano glass as well as those with an appreciation for exquisite objects. While it is a perfectly functional vase- ideal for presenting flowers- it is also an objet d'art in its own right that promises to beautify any surface that it graces.
