About the Item

Impressive and rare set of 3 vintage ceramic 'Paprika' (peppers) vases by Swedish designer Anna-Lisa Thomson (1905-1952). Dark brown ceramic vases, worked with Sgraffito technique (where a sharp object is used to carve a pattern in a glazed surface) with contrasting lance-shaped glazed leaves which offer a striking contrast to the unglazed surface. Thomson designed the 'Paprika series' in 1948 for the ceramics company Upsala Ekeby in Sweden, the series consists of vases, bowls and plates. This set of 3 vases can be used individually as an elegant vessel for showcasing flowers but is most captivating together as a standalone decorative item. Each vase is clean and in comes in fantastic vintage condition. no chips or issues. We also have a matching large table lamp from this 'Paprika series' available. It's the largest size vase from this trio, executed with brass hardware and with a blue fabric hand made shade. Please enquire when interested. Sizes: Vase XL LARGE: H:52 cm x Ø 20 cm Vase MEDIUM: H:36 cm x Ø 24 cm Vase SMALL: H:34 cm x Ø 12 cm This listing includes all 3 vases shown.
