Rare Antique Impressionistic Hand-painted Vase Finished with Moriage Decoration

About the Item

Rare Antique Impressionistic Hand-painted Vase finished with Moriage Decoration A rare beauty indeed, this piece of pottery is simple in design, yet adorned with a colorful impressionistic depiction of flowers in the wild, a style similar to the great French Impressionist artists of the time, such as Pierre Bonnard. The overall color of the vase’s background is a warm, soft green that fades in and out of a butter yellow background. This field of green and yellow serves as a visual base to the floral arrangement that appears to be daisies and iris. The color scheme is vibrant with a few pops of red/orange color. The marking on the bottom would be indicative of very early turn of the century pieces.
