Royal Copenhagen was founded in 1775 as the Royal Danish Porcelain Factory and is renowned for its fine porcelain and hand-painted decorations. In addition to porcelain, Royal Copenhagen also produced ceramics, especially during the 20th century, when artists like Axel Salto and Nils Thorsson created unique stoneware pieces.
