About the Item
Beautiful, most likely originates in Japan: large round ceramic vase in an eggshell blue to turquoise glaze.
The general style is inspired by the marvellous brush painting style of the Edo period (1603 bis 1868), where all is expressed with just a few brush strokes.
The black bird ruffles it's feathers cleaning itself, painted with bold yet intricate brush strokes... and seems to be smiling!
Attributed to the 1970s to 1980s.
