About the Item
A stunning and unusual French mid-century turquoise and black lava glazed twin stem vase formed in the style of a jug dating from around 1950/60. The red earthenware vase stands on a narrow round base with a U-shaped body with a squeezed flattened panel adjoining the two upper sections with piercing and thinning. The vase is hand decorated win blue turquoise lava glazes applied over a matt black ground. The vase is not signed but typical in style and of the period of such designers as Pol Chambost.
In good condition with wear associated with age and use.
