About the Item
Ingrid Atterberg designed the Somali series for Upsala Ekeby in 1953. It consists of six objects with elegant shapes and silk matte, black glaze. This is model 2142, the second tallest vase in the series.

Ingrid Atterberg (1920–2008) was distinguished by the bold simplicity and strictness of her creations. She is represented in many museum collections, such as the Viktoria and Albert in London and Nationalmuseum in Stockholm and has had several solo exhibitions in Sweden as well as abroad. In 1954, she was awarded the gold medal for her contribution at the triennale in Milan.

Tall sculptural floor vase with textured surface designed by John Andersson for Andersson & Johansson Höganäs in the 1950s. Handmade at Höganäs in Sweden. Made from earthenware with matte textured white glaze. Very good condition with few signs of wear and patina. Stamped AJ Höganäs underneath, the stamp used from 1920-1958.
