About the Item

Ingrid Atterberg designed the Somali series for Upsala Ekeby in 1953. It consists of six objects with elegant shapes and silk matte, black glaze. This is model 2142, the second tallest vase in the series. Measures: Height: 26.5 cm Diameter: 7 cm Design: Ingrid Atterberg Maker: Upsala Ekeby Material: Earthenware, black matte glaze Year: 1950s Signed: UE Sweden 2142 Abg Condition: Excellent vintage condition Ingrid Atterberg (1920–2008) was distinguished by the bold simplicity and strictness of her creations. She is represented in many museum collections, such as the Viktoria and Albert in London and Nationalmuseum in Stockholm and has had several solo exhibitions in Sweden as well as abroad. In 1954, she was awarded the gold medal for her contribution at the triennale in Milan.
