Wheel Thrown Moon Jar by Jason Fox. Largely influenced by Korean Pottery, Jason pays respect to the rich history of Moon Jars with this piece. "Moon Jars are magical! They are my absolute favorite thing to make and each one has such a unique presence and personality. Every major room should have at least one. I could stare at them all day long..." This moon jar was thrown on the wheel with a rich dark brown stoneware. After trimming and further refining the shape it was slowly dried and bisque fired, glazed and then fired one last time over two thousand degrees in a reduction gas kiln. After the firing the bottom of the foot is then sanded to ensure a smooth surface. A truly unique piece handmade by Jason Fox in Los Angeles that can be used functionally as a vase or as an accent piece for any modern decor. Thanks!
