About the Item
This studio piece was crafted at Rörstrand in Sweden between 1936 and 1941. Signed "Rörstrand Lönegren Sweden L166," it is hand-thrown with a distinctive relief decoration. Made of stoneware with a yellow-toned glaze, the vase stands 18.5 cm tall. The relief decor—where the pattern is raised from the surface—adds both tactile and visual depth to the design.
The yellow glaze was a highly popular color during the 1940s, and the "Florens" vase is now a sought-after collector's item due to its quality and artistic value.
Gertrud Lönegren was a prominent Swedish ceramist, regarded as one of the leading figures in 20th-century Scandinavian ceramics. Known for her refined and elegant designs, Lönegren was a prolific artist who worked with several of Sweden's major ceramic companies, including Rörstrand. She ended her career as a designer in 1941, at just 36 years old. Her works have been exhibited internationally and are featured in the collections of prestigious museums worldwide.
