About the Item

A very fine and elegant Hungarian porcelain twin handled vase with floral reticulated designs and contrasting blue glazed panelling by renowned maker Zsolnay and dating from around 1890. The vase stands raised on a round domed foot with small blue glazed panels set within beaded borders and between finely reticulated floral designs. The vase has a narrow stem applied with four coiled snake like applications with a round egg shaped body with blue panels set within beaded surrounds mounted within reticulated scroll and floral surrounds. The vase has a wide trumpet shaped top again with reticulated floral designs and is applied with scrolling grotesque dragon head handles to either side. The vase is richly hand painted in tones of yellow and pink with cobalt blue panelling and is highlighted with gilding. The vase has a printed gold mark to the base and is impressed Zsolnay Pecs and numbered 2041. In good condition with fine age crazing to the thickly applied glazes.
