Zsolnay Vintage and Rare Vase with Birds Abundantly Decorated, circa 1882-1885


ZSOLNAY VINTAGE LARGE AS WELL AS NICEST VASE OF VERY SPECIAL (NATURALISTIC) STYLE. EXTREME RARENESS ! The vase consists of a stunning tall & bellied ceramics bowl with gorgeous decorations having been made in finest manner: - the vase's area below is of tapering type - the vase stands on six feet - the vase has wide round mouth - the vase's surface is multicolored painted (for example shaded in blue, rose red, purple red, orange red and cream white colors) - various rose flower's blossoms of stunning beauty, attached to spiny twigs - having been laid on orange red surface - are running around / the area below is edged by meander border / further there are blue stylized flowers visible, being scattered on cream white surface of top area / - finally, the vase's surface is partially covered by sculptured struttings having the appearance of bent bamboo sticks on which most lovely (sculptured) birds have sat down ... MANUFACTORY: ZSOLNAY / HUNGARY The Zsolnay factory was a leader in ceramics production throughout the Austro-Hungarian Empire about Turn of Century: By 1898, a large part of ceramics production within the Monarchy was produced at the Zsolnay Factory in Pecs and within a short period, Zsolnay became the largest producer of ceramics within Austrian Empire. Especially the invention of the Eosin glazes by Zsolnay opened yet another door to extraordinary glaze decorations. Caused by these successes Hungarian well-known architects (for example Odon Lechner and Imre Steindl) preferred collaboration with Zsolnay factory. Branded by ZSOLNAY OFFICIAL STAMP: The so-said 'FIVE -CHURCHES' - stamp mark is visible at vase's reverse side. FORM NUMBER 983 EXISTING WHICH MEANS THAT THIS STUNNING & RAREST VASE WAS MADE IN PERIOD 1882 - 1885 height: 30.5 cm ( = circa 12.2 inches ) diameter of vase's mouth: 15.5 cm ( = circa 6.2 inches ) Please note: Some of the tips of the birds' wings are restored in best manner so that these restorations aren't visible with naked eye !
