About the Item
Four ceramic coasters. Decorated with historical illustrations in blue on a white background, evoking the tradition of Portuguese tiles. Each piece is square and features a detailed design inspired by the era of Portuguese navigation and discovery, making them not only functional but also decorative items of cultural value.
The illustrations include references to navigation instruments and ancient maps, such as a portrait of the astronomer using a quadrant for orientation, a compass rose attributed to Fernão Vaz Dourado (1568), a compass by Diogo Homem (1557) and a scene representing ancient Portuguese trades.
