About the Item
A striking and most uniquely shaped French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and enamel centerpiece. The centerpiece is raised by three elegant scrolled ormolu supports, with fine foliate designs and a circular stretcher with beautiful floral rosettes. The supports lead up to striking and richly chased panther heads encasing the green enameled bowl which displays a striking bottom topie shaped ormolu finial. At the scalloped shaped rim are fine ormolu bands and sphere accents. The interior of the bowl is centered by an etched ormolu reserve with a foliate palmettes pattern.
