Japanese 19th Century Imari Porcelain & French Louis XVI St. Ormolu Centerpiece

About the Item

A stunning and highly quality Japanese 19th century Imari Porcelain and French Louis XVI st. Ormolu centerpiece. This exquisite centerpiece is supported by four foliate decorated feet flanking central reserves displaying berried foliate and arbalest shaped designs below a reeded and spiral ribbon designed Ormolu band. The finely decorated pierced body has lattice floral patterns, waving linear designs, and square rosette bands along the top and bottom. The two central circular reserves showcase beautiful butterflies within a sunburst designed border. At each side are majestic Ormolu lion's heads with flowing manes. The interior has a highly detailed central design with fauna and birds amongst wonderful blooming flowers and trees. The lattice floral decorations on the sides are flanked by additional circular figures with butterflies and sunburst borders. The Ormolu rim is decorated with a laurel pattern and finished with an upper uninterrupted band.

An exquisite French 19th-century Louis XVI-style surtout de table featuring a centerpiece and two urns in patinated, gilded bronze and onyx, circa 1880. The oval centerpiece in amber patinated bronze, ormolu and onyx rests on a rectangular flanged bronze base topped with an onyx slab. Charming cherubs, draped in flowing garments, grace each side, kneeling on onyx bases with floral gilt reserves, and holding the oblong-shaped patinated bronze bowl. Intricate foliate designs and a central cameo of a young woman adorn the bowl, complemented by a reticulated flanged top band and a smooth finished interior. Two urn-shaped double-handled vases feature ormolu relief decoration depicting quivers, arrows, pan flutes, and vine branches with grape clusters. Atop bases adorned with roaring panther figurines...
