Juventa Art Nouveau Plateau Cake Stand Centrepiece
About the Item
Ornate raised floral design Art Nouveau plateau or cake stand centrepiece made by Juventa in pewter with a mirror on top. The mirrored area for the cake is 8” in diameter.
Juventa
Hans Peter started making designs for the WMF factory in 1884 from his own atelier in Esslingen (Germany). In 1889 he became the head of the handicraft department at WMF. Peter returned to Esslingen in 1899 and founded a "Werkstatt für Kunstgewerbe".
The pewterware that was marked "Juventa prima metal" was probably only produced from 1902 until 1908.
