Two beautiful pieces of the french studio pottery Tapis Vert, based in Vallauris.
These pieces are signed "Tapis Vert" - under their base.
In very good condition.
Dimension of the bowl: 14cmx8cm
Dimension of the soliflore: 22cmx12.5cm
Founded in 1948 by René Batigne and Claire White - an american painter - , the Tapis Vert Studio participated to the Golden Age of Vallauris, France, in the 20th mid century.
Solicited by Suzanne Ramié, René leaves US with Claire his wife and meets up Pablo Picasso whom he knew since the "Bateau Lavoir" days.
Various well-known artists have come together in Tapis Vert such as Anton Prinner, Bemelmans, Albert Thiry, Marcel Vertes, the Prince of Faucigny Lucinges, Nicolas de Staël and Jacques Prévert.
