About the Item

This charming small mustard pot is a beautiful example of Art Deco tableware, combining elegant materials and craftsmanship from two renowned German manufacturers: WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) and Wächtersbach Keramik. The piece consists of a cream-colored ceramic insert made by Wächtersbach, housed in a delicate silver-plated mount with handle crafted by WMF. Both the ceramic pot and the metal holder are clearly marked/stamped by their respective makers. The pot dates from the Art Deco period, likely from the 1920s or 1930s, and features the clean lines and practical elegance typical of the time. Please note: the lid has a small chip, but the piece remains fully functional and visually appealing. This little gem is perfect for collectors of Art Deco tableware, WMF enthusiasts, or simply for anyone who enjoys serving mustard (or jams and sauces) in a stylish, vintage way. It also makes a lovely decorative accent on any kitchen shelf or dining table.

He created with his school friends Roger Capron (1922-2006) and Jean Derval (1925-2010), the Callis workshop. In this village of a hundred potters, they met the neighboring ceramists André Baud, the 4 potters and among others the Madoura workshop, where he frequented the famous painter Picasso from 1949 to 1955. He also became friends with Jean Cocteau, Fernand Léger, Louis Aragon and Elsa Triolet. Robert Picault Vallauris France Olive Pot...
