Portrayal of the dancer Lucie Kieselhausen in an exotic costume consisting of a jacket and knee-length skirt with star decoration in brown, blue and yellow, sleeves and skirt part with tiered flounces with a wavy hem, the waisted jacket on the side and on the back with three peaks similar to a bellflower, jagged headgear with long colored feathers curved upwards, floral decorative element on the side of the posing figure at her feet.
The figure is based on a black, round base with the artist's signature 'Kostial' on the top next to the figure.
The dancer and actress Lucy Kieselhausen (1897 - 1926) was a student of Grete Wiesenthal and was a successful German dancer at the beginning of the 20th century. Lucy Kieselhausen appeared in three silent films: 'Thousand and one Woman' (18), 'The Seventh Great Power' and 'Earth Spirit'. In addition to her dancing activities, Lucy Kieselhausen also wrote the dance drama 'Salambo', which was set to music by Heinz Tiessen. Based on the film 'The Blonde Dream', starring Lilian Harvey.
Lilian Harvey (1906 - 1968) was a British-German actress, singer and dancer. From 1923 she attended the ballet school of the German State Opera and received first paid appearances as a dancer in Hungary and Austria. She made a total of 12 films with Willy Fritsch, and in 1930 came the decisive breakthrough with the romantic comedy film 'Liebeswalzer'. 1931 the film 'The Congress Dances' appeared, in which she appeared in a scene 'Christels Song', better known as 'Das gibt's nur einmal' that today still exists as an Evergreen. During the Nazi era in Germany Lilian Harvey's career stopped because of her opposition to the regime and she emigrated first to southern France and then to the United States. After the war she returned to Europe and took turns living in Germany and France, where she died in 1968.

Exceptional goldscheider figurine with lamp of the 1920s:
A harlequin lost in thought is depicted in a costume elaborately decorated with a fine floral pattern in shades of blue and yellow. His cap, the ruff and the strap shoes are kept in dark brown. Under his left arm he holds a gray umbrella to which an electrified metal lantern is attached.
The figure is positioned on a snow-covered earth base.
Particularly loving and delicate execution of the painting.
Designed by B. Haniroff (XIX - XX) around 1905
