Longchamp Terre de Fer Octagonal Hand Painted Floral Asparagus Plate
About the Item
From the Longchamp Faïencerie in France, an octagonal shaped Asparagus plate, circa 1885.
The plate shows transfer printed, hand painted floral bouquets and sprays on a creamy white ground. The lower area of the plate has a sauce well divided by two green, crossed asparagus spears. The plate is rimmed by a raised running border of end to end green spears as well.

Impressed: Longchamp Terre de Fer, with the mold No. 1207
Showing the expected surface age wear, with mild discoloring to the verso seen in faïence. Minor nipping to the rear rim, not affecting the seating of the plate.
