Bohemian Opalene Mallet Shaped Decanter and Stopper

About the Item

A hand-painted and cut opaline glass decanter with stopper. The neck cut with a band of raised diamonds, the faceted body with raised and gilt vertical bands, freely painted and gilt with wild flowers, trophies and a butterfly. The stopper is original and gilt with insects. The last quarter of the I9th. century saw much fine glass being produced in the Hapsburg empire. This item is a good example.
