Theresienthal enamel decanter and two liqueur glasses c1907
About the Item
Super Theresienthal set -a large clear and enamel decanter and two small liqueur glasses, decorated in green and yellow translucent enamel swags and garlands in a classic Aesthetic Movement design. The glasses are 12 cms tall - the decanter is 33.5 cms tall. This pattern and shape are documented in the Theresienthal book as: Form ref 1928 and Dekor ref 1972 first produced 1907 (pages 92 and 93). The enamelling is in excellent condition on all pieces, but there is very minor gilding loss to the body of the decanter (mostly to the top two gold bands high in the neck) -the pieces look barely used.
Along with Meyr's Neffe and Fritz Heckert, Theresienthal was on of the truly great turn of the century (19th / 20th) drinking glass makers -they still exist today.
