About the Item

This unique porcelain pitcher in rich yellow is beautifully accented with purple grapes and green leaves along the foot and rim, complemented by delicate gold gilt trim. A truly remarkable find. The front features an embossed bearded face, believed to represent Bacchus or Dionysus, the god of wine. Though unmarked, expert consultation suggests it is likely French, dating to circa 1850s.
