Decorative Ceramic Jug, Raymor, Italy c. 1950

About the Item

Raymor's reputation is so established in the USA that it is superfluous to outline its history which remains closely linked to that of its creator, Irving Richards. As an importer and distributor of high quality furniture and decoration, Richards contributes to the influence of both Scandinavian Modern and decorative ceramics, allowing traditional manufacturers, particularly italian ones, to gain fairly massive access to the American market. This beautiful earthenware pitcher with a reserve decoration is the perfect illustration of Irving's Richard's choices : the perfect balance between tradition and modernism which characterises post-war European ceramic creation. It's in its perfect original condition and still bears the Raymor label. Note that we offer another ceramic of the same inspiration.
