About the Item

This antique porcelain platter was made by Coalport in England around 1825. It is hand-painted with vivid floral sprays in shades of pink, yellow, and purple, centered within an oval medallion and repeated in panels along the border. The flowers are finely detailed, outlined in iron red, and enhanced by lush green leaves. A stippled lavender-blue ground and delicate gilt accents frame the decoration. The rim is gently scalloped and edged with a narrow band of beaded gilding. The design reflects early 19th-century Regency taste, combining elegance with richly colored botanical motifs. Coalport was one of the leading English porcelain manufacturers of the period, renowned for its vibrant enamels and fine craftsmanship, both of which are clearly evident in this piece. Condition: Excellent Dimensions: 16.25" x 12.25" Price: $285 Decoration: Hand-painted enamels with gilt accents Material: Porcelain Style: Regency Era Origin: Coalport, England Date: Circa 1825 Key Features: - Hand-painted floral sprays in vivid colors - Central oval medallion and floral border panels - Lavender-blue stippled ground with gilt detailing - Gently scalloped edge with beaded gilded rim - Made by Coalport, one of England’s premier porcelain factories
