About the Item
Art Deco Period, sterling silver-mounted, beehive-form honey jar, R. Blackinton and Co., No. Attleboro, Mass., Ca. 1930's. Glass honey jar is in the form of a beehive. The sterling silver is topped by a finial that is a sterling silver honey bee. The jar measures 4 1/2 inches high (to top of bee finial) x almost 3 1/4 inches diameter (at widest point). The jar itself measures 2 3/4 inches high (without its lid). The sterling silver lid weighs 1.525 Troy ounces. The sterling silver spoon, which measures 5 1/4 inches long x 1 1/8 inches diameter (across widest point) weighs .635 Troy ounces. There are 2 pieces in the set consisting of one (1) beehive-form glass honey jar (including its sterling silver lid) and one (1) sterling silver honey spoon. Dark areas on sterling silver in photos are reflections. In very good antique condition.
